The majority of my
professional life has been focused on helping people in need. I have worked with victims of violent
crime while working for the State of Colorado, have served on the Eagle County
Victim Impact Panel Board, have worked on class action environmental litigation, and
have developed a rehabilitation program for the Arizona Kidney Foundation for over
5,000 people in Arizona with end-stage renal disease and organ transplant
recipients.
I have served as a volunteer
for charitable organizations such as the
Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, Pakistan Earthquake Relief, Thailand
Tsunami Relief, The Adult Literacy Project, and Camp David
Gonzales as a prison tutor. I am
currently pursuing a master’s degree in Nonprofit Management and volunteering
with Twilight Brigade Compassion in
Action to establish a Denver Chapter for the Los Angeles based charity
which mobilizes and trains hospice volunteers. I serve as a hospice volunteer with Agape Healthcare Serices in Denver.
It was an honor
for me to be elected to the Board of The Comfort Fund in 2011. That this organization can provide some
relief from stress, provide some joy, and provide compassionate assistance to
people who are dying and their loved ones, speaks to my heart and inspires me to
contribute. I believe that the grants we provide allow our clients and their loved ones to focus on more important matters at hand . . . matters of the heart.
